This is a list of features our game could have, if we ever get one completed. All of these will not probably be ever implemented, but we should take them into account when planning, so our framework will be easier to extend later. Different games from other projects will use different features in our framework.

If you don't want to get carried away by hype, you should read our software specification for the first prototype.

Units

  • Tank (you probably know what it is)
  • Jeep (to provide athmosphere :)
  • APC (carries troops, could have anti-aircraft weaponry)
  • Crawler (threads or legs, slow - fires rockets or missiles?)
  • Hovercraft (for scouting and fast strikes)
  • Walker (slow, heavy, can take down bases)
  • Infantry
  • Minijet (subsonic recon/attack aircraft)
  • Cargojet (huge, for making quick attacks with land forces)
  • AH-64 Apache Longbow (just like the real one)
  • Other flying units (fighter jets, helicopters, gliders... if we need them?)
  • Radar (vehicle with equipment to spot the enemy at long range, eg. like Giraffe)
  • Light gun (for defences)
  • Heavy artillery (bombardements)
  • Stealth Minelayer (perhaps the deadliest of them all ;)
  • Engineer vehicle/squad (builds bridges and fortications)
  • Scavenger (collects scrap and minerals)
  • Mobile armory (rearming and repair on the field)

Requirements

  • Runs on Linux and FreeBSD (probably easily portable to other *BSD's)
  • 3D card recommended
